Sephora lists Mania as a woody oriental, with notes of laurel, mandarine, pink spice, lily of the valley, peony, cedar, amber, and musk. Since my personal tastes usually run toward lighter, floral fragrances, I'm not sure how much I like this one. It's not too heavy, since the musk and amber are balanced out with woodsy and floral notes, but on me it just smells like what I think of as a generic "perfume" scent - it never really seems to blend with my skin, but rather just sits there obnoxiously and screams "hey, I'm wearing perfume!" to everyone who gets close enough to smell it.
It reminds me a lot of Calvin Klein's Contradiction, which I wore absolutely to death during my sophomore year of college, and which I never really loved. I keep trying to wear Mania, though, because my mother gave it to me and I don't want to hurt her feelings by hating it enough to give it away. It's not precisely a bad scent in that it hasn't given me headaches yet, and it seems to smell better the longer I wear it, but I'm not sure it's something that I actively want to smell like.
